Over Six Decades Strong
Carl Rose & Sons began in 1957 as a supplier of asphalt and ready mixed concrete in Jonesville, North Carolina. After Carl's passing, his sons would divide the company, with Dexter taking the Concrete Division and Jack overseeing the Asphalt Paving Division.
The Asphalt Division continued to grow, eventually acquiring Twin City Paving in 1993 and building a new asphalt plant in Elkin, North Carolina, where the company resides today. After Jack's passing in 1973, his sons Dale and Dean would take ownership of Carl Rose & Sons and oversee operations for the next five decades.
In 2023, Carl Rose & Sons was acquired by Maymead Inc, a regional construction materials supplier and highway contracting firm that specializes in asphalt paving in western North Carolina, southwest Virginia and eastern Tennessee. Because of the lengthy history between the two companies as well as similar operations and management practices, Dale Rose continues to oversee the Carl Rose & Sons Division of Maymead.
